in the welcome packet. Place it in the
offering plate. Get to know us better by taking an Information Packet, available
in the rotunda. Devices for those with visual or hearing impairments are available from
the ushers. Be sure to put your first and
last name on your offering envelope, especially if giving cash.
BE PART OF THE ADVENT & CHRISTMAS CHOIR: Rehearsals

AFRICAN TEAM MINISTRIES Jewelry and art will be
displayed in the hallway near the office today through Dec. 2. This “honor system” sale benefits the peoples
of
ADVENT WREATHS for the home will be made by children, ages 4 to
grade 8, next Sunday at both 9:00 and 11:00 services. A contribution of $5 to offset the cost of
materials would be appreciated if you are able (mark your check/envelope
“Advent wreath”). Some additional
wreaths will be available for those without children.
FAITH 101: Introduction
to Faith Episcopal Church Dec. 8, 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Lunch provided. Child care if requested in advance. Call the church office to RSVP.
PAPER SHREDDING DAY Dec. 8: We’ve arranged
for on-site shredding in our parking lot from 10:00 – noon. Bring your documents and watch them become
confetti! Our cost is $30 per 200 lbs (5
banker’s boxes). Contributions
to cover the expense is appreciated.
GIVING FROM YOUR IRA:
For
the year 2007, people over the age of 70 1/2 are able to make direct gifts of
up to $100,000 to a charitable organization from their IRA. Since a person has to begin taking money out
of their IRA at this age, giving in this way may have some tax advantages for
some. Please consult your accountant or
financial advisor before making any financial decisions.
TAX-FAVORED GIVING: Check
with your tax professional about the advisability of gifting appreciated stock
to avoid capital gains taxes. Stock
transactions can take a week or more, so don’t wait until the end of December
to start the transaction. Call the
church office for the required codes and account numbers.
BODY AND SOUL AEROBIC EXERCISE: Meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 - 10:15
am. now through Dec. 13. Fee payable to the instructor, Kathy
Jennings. Bring a friend and save.
DIVORCE CARE: Divorced?
Separated? Find help. Discover hope. Experience
healing. You're welcome to begin attending the Divorce Care
group any Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. in the library. Each session is "self-contained,"
now through January 9. You'll learn how to deal with the past and
look toward rebuilding your life. For more information, contact

for Kids is not being offered at this time.

COLLECTED ON THE CART: You may place any of the following on the cart
across the hall from the kitchen.
Eyeglasses: The Pastoral Care
Ministry is collecting used eyeglasses for those in need. To date, over 825 pairs of glasses have been
forwarded to the Lion’s Recycle for Sight Program. You may leave eyeglasses in the basket on the
cart or contact Charlotte Kine for more information (530) 644-6741.
Non-perishable food items: Cans and packages of food are collected each week
for distribution at S.H.A.R.E., which gives a three-day supply of groceries to
those in need. Approximately 300
families are served by this program each month

or volunteering to distribute food at the
Personal-sized Toiletries: Hotel sized bars of soap, shampoos, conditioners
and the like are collected for distribution to the clients of the
Knit/Crocheted Caps: Distributed to the clients of
Mother Teresa Maternity Home continually welcomes
expectant mothers in need. A bin is on
the bottom of the cart for donations.
Baby supplies and clothing in original packaging for 0-3 mo. are most
welcome, but used baby clothing, goods, books, and maternity clothes are also
