Monica Ness, a member of Faith Episcopal Church since 2004, has accepted the call to become the Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministry beginning January 1, 2018.  Monica is and has been involved in many ministries at Faith, including Sunday School and Youth Ministry.
Before joining the Faith Church staff, Monica was the Director of Enrollment and Alumni Relations at Cedar Springs Waldorf School in Placerville since 2011.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication from the University of the Pacific; her earlier career was in Human Resources and small business management.
“I’m delighted to welcome Monica to the Faith Church staff,” says Fr. Sean.  “The next phase of the Appreciative Inquiry process will focus on strengthening the team of volunteers, staff, and parish with Monica in the Director’s position.  Rather than designing a candidate search process, our community will focus on team building and communication processes.”  Monica will work collaboratively on a transition plan with the Interim Director Team of Mary Higbee, Sarah Goodness, and Matthew Batkin.
Monica is currently a vestry member.  She will resign her vestry seat in December.  Her vacant seat will be open for election at the Annual Meeting in January.  The full three year term will be up for election to regularize vestry terms.  Eligible members of the parish interested in serving on the vestry are encouraged to communicate with a vestry member or Fr. Sean.
The position of Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministry was budgeted in 2017 and planned for the 2018 operating fund.  This appointment will have no budget impact for the remainder of this calendar year and does not represent a significant increase in 2018.
