About Our Worship

A worship service in the Episcopal Church includes Scripture, prayers, a sermon, hymns and songs and on most Sundays, the Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion.  Our worship is based on the Book of Common Prayer.  In our services we are led in singing by our choir, using traditional music from the Episcopal hymnal and contemporary music from a variety of sources.

About Our Worship

Our style of worship could be described as relaxed reverence.  During Holy Week, Easter and at Christmas we may use incense and festive banners.

Children are welcome in all our services.

  • We offer childcare up to age 5 at our 8:00 service

  • We offer childcare and Sunday School programs at our 10:00 service

  • We understand that not all children will feel comfortable away from their parents

  • Parents are invited to observe any of our children’s programs at any time

Order of service:
  • Before service begins, children ages infant to kindergarten are checked into nursery, junior preschool or senior preschool, based on age.

  • Service begins with singing and prayers.

  • Children from 1st through 8th grade are dismissed from the service for their classes.

  • Scripture is read.  Clergy present the sermon, often based on the Scriptures.

  • Prayers are read

  • Younger children may be picked up and older children return from their classes.

  • Communion is offered to all baptized Christians.

  • Service ends with prayers and singing.
